World’s Best Library Fayetteville – Part 2

Today, I’ll be talking about Part 2 of why the Fayetteville Library is probably the best in the whole world. So if you haven’t read Part 1, definitely check out this article Northwest Arkansas Has The World’s Best Library – Part 1. All right, so what else makes Fayetteville Library the world’s best library?

Fayetteville Library offers several activities you can participate in. You can build new job skills, visit their full teaching kitchen and 641 Deli, rent a huge venue center, enjoy a huge book collection, and join a yoga class.

This article will look at all the fantastic things that Fayetteville library offers. Read on to find out which of their services you’d like to check out.

Build New Job Skills

If you need to build a new skill, you can visit the innovation center. Say, for instance, you need to learn how to drive a forklift. You can go down to the Fayetteville Library, where they offer you the opportunity to practice driving a forklift. And if you want to become a pilot, they have a setup where you can practice and get your hours to become a pilot. All you need is some sort of virtual reality.

If you want to learn how to drive a semi-truck and get your CDL license, visit the Fayetteville Library. They have the resources and the equipment for you to learn how to drive commercial vehicles right there.

So let’s say you go to a company and the company says: “Okay, we’re going to get your CDL license.” You can go to the Fayetteville library for free and get plenty of hours on their CDL training and the actual computer system there. So you can start training for your CDL.

Pretty cool, huh? In what other library in the world can you walk in intending to grab a book, and walk out with hundreds of pilot hours under your belt? You can’t think of any off the top of your head, I’ll bet.

Full Teaching Kitchen

The other fantastic thing about the Fayetteville Library is its fully equipped training kitchen. The training kitchen is ready and available for anyone who wants to learn how to cook. The possibilities are endless: You can learn how to make a roux, roast a duck, and work with beef, and they’re going to start teaching you how to make excellent salads.

Plus, they have classes scheduled for those who want to learn how to cook. However, one thing to note is that there’s a small admission fee for the classes because they’re working with food items. The admission fee is very affordable, though.

Also, I have a 3-day itinerary that can help you decide what activities to do if you’re overwhelmed by everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

641 Deli

Another cool thing about the Fayetteville Library is the full training kitchen. The library uses it to cook for the restaurant deli (called 641 Deli) that operates Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Fayetteville Library offers affordable meals, where you can go in for lunch, eat and then go back to the office.

At 641 Deli, you can grab their hot soup of the day for three bucks, give or take. You can also take your pick between whimsically-named sandwiches such as:

  • Ozark
  • Honey Bee
  • The Melt
  • Turkey

If you want to get a taste of Arkansas, try out their Arkansas Rice and Beans. (I think the Ralston Golden Rice is a must-try!) If you’re not feeling too adventurous, don’t fret: They have classics like fries, chicken tenders, ham & cheddar sandwiches, and more.

The nice thing about the library is that it’s centrally located in Fayetteville. It’s easy to get across town on your bike, scooter, or car, eat and get back to the office. And it’s a fun community event because there are so many tables there. It’s a high-energy environment where people eat and enjoy, and everything is affordable.

Massive Book Collection

What’s a library without books? Fayetteville Library has so many great books, and they have books for everyone — adults, younger people, and kids. The library has many great places where you can enjoy reading your book. Also, the library has very thoughtful architectural designs integrated with nature.

Fayetteville Library built a prairie on the second level so you can walk outside and enjoy reading there. The outside seating creates a serene space to read, especially for those who love sitting in nature. You can enjoy books as you participate in other fun activities. You can also rent out the reading materials and bring them back to the library once you’re done.
