1. Amazeum

Without a doubt, the first place that you need to bring your kids to is the Scott Family Amazeum, located in Northwest Bentonville and next to Crystal Bridges.

I love the Amazeum because it offers a variety of activities for kids, ensuring that no one is left out, regardless of their interests. Some of the great things kids can do at the Amazeum are:

  • Hershey’s Lab
  • 3M Tinkering Hub
  • Mills Lift, Load & Haul
  • Walmart Market
  • Nickelodeon Play Lab
  • Valley Water Amazements
  • Art Studio
  • Nature & Weather
  • Studio Grow
  • Homestead Farm & Cabin
  • The Cave
  • Canopy Climber
  • Cloud Theater
  • Emerging Explorers
  • Outdoor Playscape

The list of activities your kids may do at the Amazeum is endless. But keep in mind that it’s also a great place for the kids to exercise and burn off some energy while having fun during the holidays.

With so much to do at the Amazeum, I suggest you become a member and attend whenever you want, rather than paying for each visit. They offer a one-year membership that’s quite affordable for families. Additionally, if you’re only checking out Northwest Arkansas for a few days, you can get day passes.

But I highly recommend getting the annual membership because you’ll definitely be moving down to Bentonville, Arkansas before you know it. There’s always something for every kid at the Amazeum.

However, if you’re an outdoorsy person who doesn’t like biking (or hiking), check out my other article about five different outdoor activities that don’t include biking or hiking.

Also, I have a 3-day itinerary that can help you decide what activities to do if you’re overwhelmed by everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a foodie, a sports person, a sightseer, or want to spend quality time with your kids; I have something for you. Check out the link below to learn more:

2. Crystal Bridges

Practically next door to the Amazeum, we have the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which is a sight to behold. Not to exaggerate, but there’s art worth millions, millions, and millions of dollars right in Crystal Bridges. One of the best things about Bentonville, Arkansas, is the Walmart headquarters, associated with Alice Walton, a granddaughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton.

Alice Walton is a major art investor and cultural enthusiast who has contributed significantly to Bentonville’s art and culture.

What’s more? Alice is also the founder of Crystal Bridges, a non-profit organization that has transformed Bentonville, Arkansas’s environment for the past ten years.

Even though the Crystal Bridges Museum is geared toward adults (with adult paintings and other stuff), it also has a lot of interesting and fun things for kids. For example, we have the Raid section designed as a play area for kids.

Also, the Crystal Bridges Museum offers a one-of-a-kind introduction to art and culture because there are paintings from every part of the globe. The artwork is displayed within and outside the Crystal Bridges for everyone to see.

Plus, this summer, the last of the constitution papers is coming to Bentonville, Arkansas. So bring your kids to Bentonville because they’ll learn some interesting facts about American history and have fun along the way.

So, on your way out of the Amazeum, stop by Crystal Bridges to give your kids an experience they’ll never forget.

By the way, if you just moved to some of these cities and don’t know what to visit, check out my article about moving to Northwest Arkansas, Bentonville, or Fayetteville and what I did first there.

3. Lawrence Plaza

Located right in the downtown section of Bentonville, Arkansas, we have the Lawrence Plaza, which is also a fantastic spot to take your kids. One of my favorite things about Lawrence Plaza is it transforms into an ice skating rink in the winter. They’ll fill it up and block it off, and you can go ice skating in Bentonville, Arkansas, throughout the winter.

On top of that, it transforms into a splash pad during the summer, making it a wonderful place to cool off.

Another good reason to check out Lawrence Plaza is that it’s located next to the Wright’s Barbecue, where you can try out some of the best barbeques you’ll ever taste. It’s also close to Slaughter Pen Trail, next to the Bentonville City Square, making it a wonderful starting place to bring your kids to cool off or learn how to ice skate.

Last but not the least, there are a lot of murals and artwork in the region, so your kids will have a wonderful time.

4. Buddy Pegs

If you didn’t know, Bentonville, Arkansas is the world’s mountain biking capital, making it an excellent destination to take your kids to have some fun, starting with Buddy Pegs NW Arkansas. Buddy Pegs is a Bentonville-based company specializing in teaching kids how to ride bikes and getting them interested in mountain biking or other activities requiring them to go over mountainous terrain.

You should check out Buddy Pegs because they have so many lessons and activities in the region, especially if your child isn’t ready to ride a bike yet, is struggling a little, or is stuck on that training wheel phase.

5. Let’s Imagine

Let’s Imagine Indoor Playground is a fun place to take your kids if they need to burn some energy. Why? It’s the perfect combination of a Trampoline Park, Amazeum, and a McDonald’s playground area — only better because it brings them all together.

Also, Let’s Imagine is a perfect place to host birthday parties and other gatherings because the setting is suitable for people of all ages.

So you can organize a birthday party for your child and let them burn off some energy while having a blast. They can jump around the monkey bars and foam places too.

It’s also great for parents because it provides monthly and daily membership options.

6. Climb Bentonville

Lastly, we have Climb Bentonville, located just off the main section of Bentonville, on the south end of town. Climb Bentonville is geared towards older kids, or perhaps even those nearing middle school or high school. It’s also a climbing location, and (like mountain biking) climbing is set to become the next big thing in Northwest Arkansas.

Maybe your kids aren’t into sports like basketball or baseball. Perhaps climbing is their passion.  So, bring them to Climb Bentonville to burn energy while also acquiring a valuable skill set that they might apply in the future.
