Loving Community
Bentonville, Arkansas, has an amazing, welcoming, and loving community. They have so many events around the community that they come together around the square, The Momentary, Crystal Bridges, the bike paths, or other places in the area.
Many events are happening all year long around Bentonville. You can probably hit five or six events throughout the week in the city, whether it’s music, art, culture, sports, or adventure.
I believe that the community is so welcoming and loving because many people have moved here and are looking for new friends, new communities, and new things to learn about people.
Many of us, including myself, moved here from Chicago. I was a real estate agent in Chicago for 13 years, but I decided to abandon ship because Illinois is a dumpster fire of a state and move to Northwest Arkansas.
Bentonville is not just mountain biking or sports. There is a heavy influence of art and culture around the world between Crystal Bridges and The Momentary. You can also notice the murals everywhere around Bentonville. I see tourists from all over the world, including California, New Mexico, and even Asia, to check out all the art.
Bentonville’s Amazing Weather
Another definite advantage of Bentonville is its fantastic weather. I love Northwest Arkansas’ weather. Maybe it’s because I came from Chicago, which had the worst winters of all time, spring would not just exist, and fall would just go away.
The fall season in Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas lasts forever. The winter season in the area is mild, and the summer is excellent. Being indoors and outdoors all summer long is not a problem. I love spring. It’s just so much better than where I came from.
I love Northwest Arkansas due to its mild winters and perfect summers, compared to Florida or Texas because Texas is crazy hot in the summertime, and Florida is hot and humid.

Another reason why people flock to Bentonville is its world-renowned school system. Some of them are the top-rated schools in all of America. This is what draws a lot of attention to the city.

Cons of Living in Bentonville
There are so many pros I could talk about Bentonville, but we need to pause because it can go on forever. So let’s talk about some of the disadvantages if you are going to be living in Bentonville.
Lots of Construction in the City
The first one I want to point out is that while Bentonville, Arkansas, is a great place to live right now, there’s a lot of construction.
We have The Ledger being built, which is the world’s first full bikeable building. We also have Walmart’s 35-acre (14-hectare) massive campus being built on Eighth Street. There are also many new office buildings and homes being built in Bentonville. So you’ll see a lot of cranes being lifted and doing stuff.
Construction will end in the next couple of years, and Bentonville will be a metropolis that is an excellent area for biking pathways and all sorts of amazing things. We have to work through this period of building construction.
High-Demand City
The second disadvantage is that there’s a lot of demand for the area, so home prices are slightly higher than the national average. As I mentioned above, many homes are being built. If you’re looking for new construction, let me know, but there’s a lot of high demand.
There is a lot of new construction on the outskirts, including homes. When you come here to Bentonville, the one thing you want to do is to put an offer right away on the house potentially.
You don’t want to wait a long time because it will probably be off the market when you decide to put in an offer a couple of days later. This is because there’s such high demand in homes and office spaces that Bentonville has made its mark in American culture for the last couple of years.
Bentonville’s Traffic
The last thing that could potentially be a disadvantage is traffic.
Traffic in Bentonville is very mild compared to the Chicago area, where I came from. It might be a little different for you if you went from a very rural part of America.
Traffic is an ambiguous term around here, and I have never seen traffic that I would consider bad. Northwest Arkansas is very thoughtful and innovative regarding its traffic and transportation. I’ve noticed that they will ensure problems are fixed before they get way out of control.
They have put in many overpasses and are already fixing up a lot of turn offs when it comes to getting off the highway. So they are way ahead of the curb in terms of traffic. If you experience little traffic when you come to Bentonville, just know there are plans in the works and they are ready to solve traffic issues in the future.
