My Perfect Weekend in Bentonville, Arkansas (Northwest Arkansas)

As a local Northwest Arkansas real estate agent, I can help you if you’re looking for the perfect weekend in Bentonville, Arkansas. So, what makes a perfect weekend in this beautiful city?

The perfect weekend in Bentonville involves getting coffee at Onyx Coffee, hiking the Back 40 Trails, and eating Seafood at Flying Fish. You can also experience the arts at Crystal Bridges, get ice cream at Trash Creamery, go shopping, admire the sunset at The Way of Color, and enjoy live music.

Read further to discover why these experiences will give you a fantastic weekend in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Video:

Start With Coffee at Onyx Coffee

Onyx Coffee is famous and a staple coffee place throughout Northwest Arkansas. They’re well-known for winning several awards in Europe for their roasting and barista techniques.

Your weekend in Bentonville is off to a great start if you have coffee at Onyx Coffee. I love visiting Onyx Coffee’s headquarters (Onyx Coffee Lab) in Rogers because it’s in a beautiful building, and it showcases every step of their coffee supply chain process.

Having coffee at Onyx allows you to enjoy excellent coffee and experience its amazing ambiance and vibe. They have several coffee shops in Northwest Arkansas, and each one has its own unique vibe.

Moving to Northwest Arkansas, Bentonville or Fayetteville? What I Did First. Here’s how to do it!

Hit the Trails

You can’t leave Northwest Arkansas without hitting the trails. If you’re a biker, you’ll love the Slaughter Pen trails close to Crystal Bridges and run next to the Razorback Regional Greenway.

I’m a massive fan of the Back 40 trail system, which is a wonderful place for hikers and runners because it’s a bit of a technical trail with different kinds of terrain, and very little pavement. You’ll have lots of fun discovering the elevation gains, river crossings, and stunning nature.

Although the Back 40 trail system is close to Bentonville, you’ll feel like you’re in a remote location. The Back 40 loop extends into Missouri and is 40 miles (64 kilometers) long, but, like me, you’ll probably opt for the 20-mile (32-kilometer) loop.

Also, I have a 3-day itinerary that can help you decide what activities to do if you’re overwhelmed by everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a foodie, a sports person, a sightseer, or want to spend quality time with your kids; I have something for you. Check out the link below to learn more:

Best Coffee Shop in World? Obviously in Northwest Arkansas

Get Your Seafood Fix at Flying Fish

After your adventure on the Back 40 trails, you’ll have worked up an appetite. Of course, there are many great places to eat in Northwest Arkansas, but I strongly recommend Flying Fish because I love seafood.

As my favorite place to eat in Bentonville, Arkansas, Flying Fish serves lots of seafood and some of the best hush puppies you’ll ever taste.

You’ll also love the unique decor featuring bass on the walls that people have decorated with hats and other items.

Discover the Art and Cultural Scene at Crystal Bridges

Checking out the art and cultural scene at Crystal Bridges Museum is also a must-do activity in Bentonville, Arkansas.

They have new art installations all the time, and there is new art arriving and leaving each month. Every time you visit, you’ll be able to admire art that you’ve never seen before. The curators do a fantastic job of showcasing new art in Northwest Arkansas, and it’s a great way to admire some high-quality art by talented artists.

Crystal Bridges will be expanding its museum soon, and it’s exciting to think about all the new art it will be able to accommodate.

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth at Trash Creamery

Bentonville Square is a good place to go after looking at art at Crystal Bridges. Bentonville Square is home to Trash Creamery, where you can buy delicious ice cream with scrumptious toppings.

They have an endless menu of things to fill your ice cream with, but peanut butter is my personal favorite. I have that every time I go there; if you also love peanut butter, you should definitely try it. However, whatever you feel like putting in your ice cream, Trash Creamery probably has it, and you will satisfy your sweet tooth there.

After getting your ice cream, walk out of Trash Creamery and into Bentonville Square to hang out, enjoy the natural surroundings, and savor your sweet treat.

Shopping Around Bentonville City Square

Once you’ve finished your ice cream, doing some shopping at Bentonville Square should be next on the agenda. The square has a few shops and, although I’m not a huge shopping fan, I find it interesting browsing the unique stores.

They have antique stores and candle shops, which are pretty cool. However, you shouldn’t leave Bentonville Square without visiting their interior plant store.

Admire the Sunset at the Way of Color

After I’m finished eating ice cream from Trash Creamery and browsing the stores at Bentonville Square, it’s probably going to be close to sunset. The natural thing to do at this time of the day is to head over to The Way of Color.

The Way of Color is close to Bentonville Square and Crystal Bridges and the best place to be when the sun rises or sets in Northwest Arkansas. It’s also only half a mile (800 meters) away from the Slaughter Pen trail.

The Way of Color is a dome and looks like an igloo. It has plenty of seating inside, making it a comfortable place to enjoy the sunset—the seats are even warmed in the winter! I personally love going there in the summer, though.

The Way of Color’s oculus and dome continuously change color as the sun sets, creating an exquisite color and light show.

Check Out Some Live Music at The Momentary

After admiring the beautiful sunset from The Way of Color, I would head to The Momentary. This is a famous Bentonville live music venue.

Entrance to The Momentary is free, and they feature various local and famous artists from further afield. If you’re there when they have live bluegrass music, you’re in for a treat, but it’s worth checking their website beforehand to check what’s happening.
