Today, I’ll be talking about something personal and dear to my heart. I want to share all the things I’m most looking forward to doing in Northwest Arkansas this year with you.
I am excited about the music scene in Northwest Arkansas and looking forward to running in the Ouachita Mountains, jet skiing on Beaver Lake, kayaking in Siloam Springs, and attending the hot air balloon festival. I am definitely going to more Hogs games, and I will be doing my first Spartan race.
In this article, I will discuss all the exciting things happening in Northwest Arkansas this year. Northwest Arkansas Music Scene
One of the things I am most excited about is all the music concerts this year. There are so many festivals in Fayetteville, and I live only 10 minutes away from JJ’s Live, so I will definitely be attending many performances.
- Northwestern Arkansas Symphony. I have seen almost all of their concerts so far, and I am super jazzed because they’re having an amazing series. They’re having their Gulley Park summer concert series right here in Fayetteville, and I can’t wait to see them perform live.
- Walmart Amphitheater. There’s nothing better than going out with friends and meeting new people, and the Walmart Amphitheater is the perfect place to do that. I already have a few tickets purchased and am ready for some live music and fun.
- Garth Brooks. I am super excited to see Garth Brooks performing live at the University of Arkansas stadium. It’s going to be a massive concert, and I am definitely going to be there.
- Fayetteville Roots Festival. This huge festival is all about music and good food and attracts tourists from across America. We have all sorts of different outdoor concerts, including the Momentary Bluegrass festival.
- JJ’s Live – They’re situated in Fayetteville and have big-name artists performing all year long. They can host up to 2,600 people in the venue, and no matter what your taste in music, there will be something for you. I think I will see Dashboard Confessional and Jimmy Eat World.

Outdoor Activities and Sporting Events in Northwest Arkansas
I’m also really excited about running in the mountains and doing all sorts of cool activities with friends this upcoming summer, fall, and even spring. Part of the reason I moved to Northwest Arkansas is because of all the amazing trail systems.
I live at the base of Mount Kessler, but there are some crazy trails and races that people do in the Ouachita and Ozark mountains. Some of these trails and races are super long. Sometimes, I run with my friends, and other times I do half the distance or cheer them on along the way.
Here are some of the sporty outdoor activities I am most excited about:
- Running on the trails. I already have a bunch of dates marked off on my calendar where I’ll be attending races and runs throughout the Ouachita and Ozark mountains.
- More time on the water. I really want to spend more time on the river and lakes this year. I grew up on a lake in the Chicagoland area and definitely want to get back to that. Ideally, I would like to do some skiing and jet skiing on Beaver Lake — that would be fantastic. I also want to try doing some kayaking practice in Siloam Springs.
- More fishing. There are so many rivers around where I live, and I didn’t spend enough time exploring them last year, so I want to do some fishing, tubing, and floating.
- Spartan races. This is a personal one, but I plan to do a couple of Spartan races this year. I am used to running and endurance sports, but this will be my first obstacle course race, so I’ll be practicing all through summer.

Exciting Things To Do in Northwest Arkansas for Creatives and Foodies
Another thing I’m excited about doing this year is attending the hot air balloon festival. It’s right behind my house and is like a carnival with hundreds of hot air balloons. You can go for a ride on one of them and even skydive if you want to.
I am also excited for the Bikes Blues & BBQ festival held at Rogers, which is two cities north of Fayetteville. I don’t own a motorcycle, but I appreciate the craftsmanship and the culture that goes with it. The freedom of being on a motorcycle and just hitting the mountain roads must be exhilarating.
I was never able to see Hamilton when I lived in the Chicagoland area, so I’m excited that Hamilton is coming to the Walton Art Center. It’s only 10 minutes away from my house, and the tickets are on sale, so that’s going to be a lot of fun.
Here’s a fun YouTube video showing what the Bikes Blues & BBQ festival is all about.
Connecting People With Houses
What I’m really jazzed for this upcoming year is connecting more people with houses. I have a passion for bringing people from outside Arkansas into Arkansas.
I want to help people discover how unique Northwest Arkansas is. I want people to move here and experience the trails, culture, art, and outdoor activities. If you are interested in rental updates, you can sign up here and be notified of new rentals in Northwest Arkansas.
There are many business opportunities too, with new startups opening and venture capitalists moving to Northwest Arkansas.
Perfect Fall Temperatures
Lastly, I am super excited for fall time. I love the summer and all the activities I get to do, but I am really excited about fall. That long season where the perfect temperature exists, you can open your windows all of the time and take in the beauty as the colors change outside.
