Tony’s Taste Of Chicago

Phillip ShepardBy Phillip Shepard5 Mins Read

We need to talk about Tony’s Taste of Chicago, and since I’m the resident Chicago dog expert, I know quality when I see it. They serve fresh and authentic food from Chicago from a food truck, but only during the week for lunch.

Tony’s Taste of Chicago serves authentic Chicago Style Hot Dogs and many more Chicago favorites. They serve it out of a food truck and are located at 105 B Street in Bentonville, Arkansas, and are open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 6 PM and Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM.

If you’re craving an authentic Chicago hot dog or an Italian beef sandwich, stick around, and I’ll explain everything you need to know about this quaint little food truck.

Video:

Tony’s Taste of Chicago Menu

Jenna and Tony, the owners, source their food straight from Chicago, including pure Vienna beef hot dogs. What’s the difference between a regular hot dog and a Vienna Beef hot dog?

Here are the qualities of a pure Vienna beef hot dog:

  • It has a pure beef taste
  • It’s not as salty
  • Some say the outer casing snaps better, while others say they’re softer than other hot dogs.

Here’s what a normal hot dog is like:

  • Most hot dogs are made with chicken and pork, so there’s no beef flavor.
  • Hot dogs are salty.
  • Most don’t have a snappy casing.

We need to get this straight before talking about Tony’s Taste of Chicago menu so that you’re aware of what a big deal it is to have this here in Northwest Arkansas. Of course, they have other Chicago staples, such as:

  • Italian beef subs
  • Chicago Style hot dog
  • Italian sausage
  • Gyro
  • Polish sausage
  • Pizza Puff

They have other items, such as drinks and fries, to round out your meal, all at reasonable prices. Going there for lunch is convenient and cheap, so if you have some time in your day, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Order Online or at the Truck

If you’re in the area between 11 AM and 2 PM, you can stop by the truck and order your authentic Chicago dog. Or, if you’re stuck in an office but still want to experience the authentic Chicago Italian beef sub, you can order online and pick it up. Doing this keeps you from waiting in line to order.

They’re located at:

105 Southeast B Street

Bentonville, AR

You can also call them at:

312-451-3871

Since they’re only open at lunchtime during the week, you have minimal chances to get your Chicago hot dog fix. However, if you’re craving an authentic Deep Dish pizza from Chicago, we’ve got you covered here, and the following Chicago pizzerias are open for dinner as well as lunch.

And if you want updates, you can visit their Facebook page for more details.

Authentic Chicago Pizzeria In NWA

Tony’s Taste of Chicago is a great place to get an authentic Chicago dog, but for authentic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, check out these great pizzerias. And if you’re confused about what a deep-dish pizza is, let me enlighten you.

A Chicago-style deep dish pizza starts with a flaky, buttery crust pressed into a cake pan, then a thick layer of cheese is added to the bottom. Other toppings, such as sausage, beef, or pepperoni, are layered on top of the cheese. Then a thick layer of homemade chunky pizza sauce is layered on top.

That entire thing is then baked for close to half an hour, then served. Many pizzerias have variations of this, but this is the basic recipe.

Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom

When you think of Old Chicago, you might think of the mafia sitting in the back of a little Italian restaurant, making “deals” and eating pasta and pizza. At least, that’s what the media likes to portray. And yet, there’s an element of truth to this portrayal.

Many members of the mafia would, and still do, sit in the back room of the restaurant, relaxing with a beer and some food. A lot of deals happen there.

So nothing is more “Chicago” than the Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Rogers, Arkansas. They serve authentic deep-dish pizza, traditional bar food, on-tap craft beers, and other specialty drinks.

They’re open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 10 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM. You can find them at:

1900 W. Pleasant Grove

Rogers, Arkansas

It’s right off of I-49 and across the street from Ashley Furniture.

Conclusion

Tony’s Taste of Chicago can’t be beat when you’re craving an authentic Vienna Beef hot dog. But, if you don’t have time to visit the food truck during their limited hours, or you want something more substantial, make a trip to the Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Rogers.

Either way, you’ll have a great Chicago experience without going to the Windy City.
