Northwest Arkansas: 5 New Things Happening NOW!

Several interesting and fun things are happening right NOW in Northwest Arkansas, including new businesses, great restaurants, and other unique things. So today, we’re going to be talking about those.

The 5 things happening NOW in Northwest Arkansas include a new store from HGTV’s Fixer to Fabulous stars, a Heroes Coffee location in Rogers, Arkansas, and a new facelift to Northwest Park in Rogers. Walmart is launching a new mountain bike line, and Fayetteville is opening a container bar.

No one seems to be talking about those things, so let’s talk about them. Keep reading, and you won’t miss out on a thing!

Marrs Mercantile From HGTV Stars

Northwest Arkansas is famous for many things, but the biggest thing is that NWA is featured on HGTV. We have our own HGTV show, Fixer to Fabulous, which has aired for several seasons already. David and Jenny Marrs star in the show, and they have partnerships with Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart and are doing well.

They recently opened a retail store, Marrs Mercantile, that sells curated goods, refurbished items, and custom furniture. They also sell food, clothing, hats, and books. They’re located on Main Street in Centerton, Arkansas, which is adjacent to Bentonville.

Since it is a mercantile, they source their items from local shops and factories, and the items are different every time you visit. They claim that when you visit, it’s like a treasure hunt, as you don’t know what you’re going to find.

If you watch the show, or rather, the most recent season, you might recognize the building, which is the old Centerton Bank that they converted into an upstairs apartment with the store on the main floor.

Dave and Jenny Marrs are very well-known in the area, and they can be seen with their family out and about frequently.

They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from noon to 6 PM. You can find them at 289 N. Main St in Centerton, Arkansas. You can either make a special trip over there or stop in while doing other errands.

But no matter what you choose, it should be an unforgettable experience.

A Second Heroes Coffee Location

The next thing that’s happening in Northwest Arkansas that I’m super excited about is that Heroes Coffee is opening up a second location in Rogers, Arkansas. Well, actually, it’s located somewhat between Rogers and Bentonville, but the official address is Rogers.

The other thing I’m excited about with this location is that it’s opening up right next to Ramen Nara, which is my favorite Ramen bar. But if you’re not aware, Heroes Coffee has two locations in Bentonville, Arkansas, with the first one located in Downtown Bentonville.

They both have fun, tiered seating, where, instead of booths being back to back, they are staggered, with some at the ground level while others are up on posts. Customers must use ladders like those found on bunk beds to get to the upper seating area.

But their coffee is great, and I highly recommend that you stop there the next time you’re in the area.

Also, I have a 3-day itinerary that can help you decide what activities to do if you’re overwhelmed by everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a foodie, a sports person, a sightseer, or want to spend quality time with your kids; I have something for you. Check out the link below to learn more:

Rogers Is Spending 10 Million Dollars To Improve Their Parks

The parks in Rogers always seem to have issues, but we love our parks and recreation areas. So Rogers is spending $10 million to give Northwest Park a facelift, including the following:

  • Extra baseball fields
  • New batting cages
  • A new playground
  • A new road connection

Rogers Aquatic Center is also getting a facelift, which is amazing, as that’s such a cool place.

But it’s great to see the city put so much money back into the infrastructure and the things people actually use. I came from Chicago, and they just didn’t do that. But anyway, if you’re looking at moving to the area, check out the parks and recreational areas, as they’re impressive.

Trail System Prompted Walmart’s Mountain Bike Line

Northwest Arkansas is the mountain bike capital of the world, as you might already be aware of if you’ve watched my videos for a while. We even have the Olmypic USA Mountain Biking team training here for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics, so our trail system is one of the best in the world.

Walmart used that as inspiration for their new mountain bike line, and that’s happening right now in Northwest Arkansas. The Ozark Trail brand is known for being affordable, so the fact that they’re branching out into mountain bikes makes them more accessible for everyone.

If you’re thinking that you want to get into mountain biking but don’t want to spend a lot of money on a mountain bike, you should definitely check out the Ozark trail line when they launch.

This showcases Walmart’s investment in this, as mountain biking has exponentially grown throughout the world, and Bentonville has reaped the benefits of this.

Fayetteville’s First Container Bar: The Tavern

Fayetteville always seems to have some funky things going on there, and this next thing that’s happening now in Northwest Arkansas is no exception. South Fayetteville will soon have the first container bar, which is currently being referred to as “The Tavern.”

They’re turning an old shipping container into a bar and will serve coffee, soda, beers, and some type of typical bar food. The two owners already have food trucks in the area, so they decided to merge and create something new.

Once they get the container in place and built, the new owners plan to landscape the surrounding area and provide a semi-permanent structure to shelter customers from the weather. While they haven’t decided on the name yet, I’m sure it’s going to be great. And I’ll keep you updated on the progress as soon as I know more.

Conclusion

So many things are happening in Northwest Arkansas right now, and it’s bringing people to the area very quickly. From businesses expanding to population explosions in the neighboring areas like Pea Ridge and Rogers, this is the area to be. If this sounds intriguing, and you’re going to be in the area, let me know, and I can give you the $10 tour.
