Northwest Arkansas keeps getting better—and the latest reason to visit is delicious. New openings across Rogers and Bentonville are proof that our food scene is growing more creative and more fun by the month. If you love pizza, gelato, cozy cafés, or rooftop cocktails, there’s something new to get excited about.

Northwest Arkansas is the best place to live in America.

Ria Pizzaria — Downtown Rogers’ new Napolitan spot

Ria (R-I-A) is now open in downtown Rogers and it’s a must-try for anyone who cares about pizza. Expect Napolitan-style pies: thin, chewy centers with that signature char, quick-fired crust, and creative toppings. The owners crossed paths at Lady Slipper, and they’ve translated that craft-cocktail, upscale vibe into a pizza place with martinis, dessert pizzas, and a focus on quality ingredients.

If you’re picky about pizza, this one’s aimed at you. Think elevated combinations rather than one-size-fits-all chains. Friendly tip: skip the anchovies unless you’re part of a very specific club.

Amorino Gelato — 24 flavors in Pinnacle Rogers

A dedicated gelato shop has opened on the other side of Rogers in Pinnacle, and it’s bringing an Italian sweet tooth to the neighborhood. Gelato is denser and more intensely flavored than ice cream, and this location boasts 24 flavors—perfect for sampling or building your ideal cone.

What’s exciting about this opening is the larger trend: Northwest Arkansas is getting more specialty places. Instead of generic, multi-cuisine spots, neighborhoods are gaining focused makers and shops—gelato, specialty cookies, craft coffee—that give every outing more personality.

The Compton in Bentonville — three distinct dining experiences

The Compton hotel, built by the Walton family and newly opened in downtown Bentonville, houses three restaurants under one roof. Each offers a different tone and context, and together they strengthen the downtown dining loop near Crystal Bridges and the Bentonville Square.

  • Cina — A Tuscan steakhouse led by executive chef Corin Ellis. Expect a refined, meat-forward menu with thoughtful sides and classic techniques.
  • The Eddie — A second-story cocktail bar overlooking the Bentonville Square. Great for sunsets, people-watching, and a well-made drink.
  • Field Notes — A daily café serving Onyx Coffee. This is the neighborhood coffee spot elevated: good beans, a calm place to meet, and breakfast or lunch fare that pairs well with a walk through downtown.

These additions matter because downtown Bentonville thrives on foot traffic, events, and reasons to linger—farmers markets, First Fridays, art walks, and the nearby Crystal Bridges trail network. More high-quality dining options keep that momentum going.

What these openings tell us about the region

There’s a shift toward curated, specialty food experiences across Northwest Arkansas. Instead of catch-all menus, restaurants are finding success by doing one thing very well—gelato shops, chef-driven pizzerias, single-roast coffee bars. That specialization raises the bar for the whole scene and gives residents and visitors unique reasons to explore different cities and downtowns.

Downtowns are becoming gathering places again: places to meet friends, take kids, enjoy live music, dine after a museum visit, or grab coffee before a bike ride on the trails. Each new opening adds texture and personality to those neighborhoods.

Planning a visit or thinking of moving here?

If you want to explore Northwest Arkansas intentionally, there are resources that make it easy to experience the best food and neighborhoods:

  • 3-Day Itineraries for different interests: foodie, adventurer, sightseer, sports fan, artist, or family-friendly itineraries.
  • NWA Starter Pack: a city-by-city guide with local highlights, postcards, and fun extras to help you get oriented.
  • Instant Home Updates: custom notifications for new homes in the area if you’re actively house-hunting.
  • A weekly “What’s Going On in NWA” email to stay current on events, markets, and downtown happenings.

Moving to Northwest Arkansas has its own logistics and timelines. If you’re navigating an out-of-state move and the mortgage or closing process, working with a local lender who knows cross-state transactions can make a big difference.

Where to start this weekend

  1. Head to downtown Rogers for pizza at Ria and a stroll through the revitalized square.
  2. Check out Pinnacle for a gelato flight—try a few of the 24 flavors.
  3. Make an afternoon of Bentonville: visit the Compton for coffee at Field Notes, walk Crystal Bridges, and return to The Eddie for a cocktail at sunset.

Northwest Arkansas is adding thoughtful, interesting places to eat—and that’s one of the best measures of a city’s livability. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or planning a permanent move, these openings make the region tastier and more vibrant than ever.
