The world has come to Northwest Arkansas, and global things are happening here. We have a lot of things happening in Bentonville and Fayetteville, so that’s what this post is about.
The global things happening in Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville and Fayetteville) include several international sports coming here, as well as an international sports bar coming to the area. We are also the training headquarters for the Olympic USA Mountain Biking team.
Northwest Arkansas is quickly becoming a global city, and I’m very excited to share all the cool things happening with you. So let’s get started!
Video:
USA Mountain Biking Team Training Headquarters
Northwest Arkansas is the Mountain Biking capital of the world, so it makes sense that the Olympic USA Mountain Biking team would set up training headquarters here. They actually moved here from Colorado and are training to go to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
They’re staying here to also train for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Their headquarters are actually in the Ledger building, which is the first-ever bike building that has switchback ramps that go from the ground floor to the rooftop. There are several places to get refreshed after biking to work, as well as several places to store your bike while you’re working.
The Olympic biking team coming to Bentonville puts us on the map in a global way that many things couldn’t, so I’m pretty excited.
International Sports Bar
There is an international sports bar coming to downtown Bentonville! The Botanical will open up this summer behind Heroes Coffee at 8th and A streets and will feature several international sports events on TVs throughout the bar, much like current US sports bars.
When I say “global,” I mean that so many people have moved here from all over the world, and there are so many interesting demographics here. And with the international sports bar scheduled to open up this summer, it’ll be interesting to see who shows up to experience the entire vibe.
The other thing I find interesting is that 5-7 years ago, opening an international sports bar in Bentonville was impossible.
However, with all the sports traffic coming to the area, there’s an overdue need for it now. International residents demand that their favorite sports be shown or highlighted within the area businesses.
The demographics are changing, and we are becoming a global community, and it’s awesome!
Full-Size Cricket Ground/Park
Creekside Park is building a full-size cricket court. Now, we have courts for almost any other thing you can imagine, including:
- Pickleball
- Tennis
- Basketball
- Baseball
We also have plenty of tennis and basketball courts, baseball and football fields, and pools in the area, but this will be the first-ever Cricket court. It’s part of a larger park project that was scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2023.
Due to how many international people are moving to the area, as I mentioned earlier, the demand for international sports is growing, and to keep up with demand, the city is responding positively.
And really, the area caters to sports enthusiasts that come here specifically for the many competitions, facilities, and other things geared towards sports enthusiasts. So now we get Cricket, Rugby, and other sports that look exciting to try.
Also, I have a 3-day itinerary that can help you decide what activities to do if you’re overwhelmed by everything Northwest Arkansas has to offer.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a foodie, a sports person, a sightseer, or want to spend quality time with your kids; I have something for you. Check out the link below to learn more:

Crepes Paulette
My favorite restaurant, Crepes Paulette, is coming to Downtown Bentonville, and I couldn’t be more excited! They’ll be in the same neighborhood as Heroes Coffee and the new international sports bar on college avenue, so it should get some great business from the college.
If you were familiar with their food truck, Madame Poupon that closed at the beginning of 2020, then you should be familiar with their menu. It’s simply amazing how much they can stuff in a crepe! Now the menu obviously features crepes, but they also feature soups, granola, and several beverages, including fresh brewed coffee.
Here’s a sampling of their crepe creations:
- Pecan pie
- Apple pie
- Thai-inspired crepes
- Club-inspired crepes
- Italian and Greek crepes
You can also add extras, such as chicken or nutella, for a small charge.
They are located at 100 Southwest 8th street, and they’re open M-F from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Sat and Sun from 9 AM to 4 PM. You can order online, or call them at 479-250-1110.
Pro Padel League Licensing
Nothwest Arkansas now holds the licensing for America’s first pro-padel league. Padel is very popular in Europe and Latin America, but it’s only recently come to the United States.
It’s a sport that sort of mixes tennis with squash, and it’s played on a court that’s about a third of the size of a tennis court. Points are scored differently than tennis, as it’s more of a game of strategy than it is a game of strength. They also lower the net itself.
This is such a fast-growing sport, and actually, the Matrix Racquet Club in Lowell bought the rights to host the franchised team.
So it’s really fascinating to see how much the area is growing due to the different types of international sports coming here. And it’s all very successful–even as much as football, baseball, and basketball.
Rumor: Soccer Is Coming
So I have a secret to share with you, even though it’s going to be publicly released this summer. Are you ready for it? There is a major soccer team moving to Northwest Arkansas! The land has already been bought, the stadiums will be built, and it will be by Pinnacle Hills.
Currently, they’re working with Rogers, Arkansas, to make it all happen. And when more information is released, I’ll be sure to share it with you.
Conclusion
So it’s really exciting to see all the global things happening right here in Northwest Arkansas. We have international sports coming here great restaurants, and the USA Olympic biking team setting up their training headquarters in the area.
This is such an up and coming area, so I’m excited to see what will happen and share it with you. Be sure to sign up for my 3 day itinerary tour, and I’ll see you next time!
