Beef O’Brady’s In Bentonville, Arkansas

While I usually like to spotlight local restaurant startups in my blog, I have to tell you about Beef O’Brady’s, which is a franchise. After several people urged me to go there because of Trivia Night, I gave in, and I’m glad I did.

What Is Beef O’Brady’s?

Beef O’Brady’s is a family-friendly Irish pub that serves everything from burgers and steaks to buffalo wings. The founder, Jim Mellody, started the first restaurant in Brandon, Florida, in 1985. From there, over 270 locations were opened across the United States. However, since then, the number has dropped back down to 200.

It’s a sports bar, but their food is on the gourmet level. When I was there, I had the O’Brady burger, I believe, and it was sensational. For a franchise, it was amazing.

Beef O’Brady’s Menu

So I’ve briefly discussed my impression of the food I had, but what else do they have on the menu? Here’s a sampling:

  • Cheeseburger fries: A chopped Angus burger with all the toppings sits on top of crispy fries.
  • Steak nachos: Tortilla chips topped with Angus skirt steak, queso and other cheeses, jalapenos, salsa, and other delicious nacho toppings.
  • Boneless and traditional wings: They come seasoned in different dry rubs or sauces, ranging in heat from Garlic Parmesan to Atomic.
  • Fresh entree salads: You can choose chicken or fish to top your salad or have a fresh garden salad by itself or as a side dish.
  • Premium Angus burgers: You can build your own burger or choose from one of six pre-determined options. If you’re looking for a vegetarian burger, they offer an Impossible burger made just the same as their normal burgers.
  • Delicious sandwiches or wraps: You choose from several options, including the Original Reuben, Steak Garlic Melt, a Club Wrap, or the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich.

They serve many more options, including a great kids’ menu. And if you have room for dessert, you choose from three great options, including funnel fries.

Are you tempted? Let me now tell you when you can go and where to go for this delicious food.

A Franchise Where Everyone Knows Your Name?

When I visited Beef O’Brady’s, it had a sort of “Cheers” vibe to it. Do you remember the old TV Show, Cheers? Everyone there knew everyone else, and it was a big social event on every episode.

But is this possible in a Franchise?? Not all franchises have that friendly atmosphere, but the Bentonville location certainly does. And the reason is that they have trivia nights, games, and TVs for sports nights. That’s the main reason people told me to go there, and I definitely don’t regret it!

Is Beef O’Brady’s Better Than Buffalo Wild Wings?

Even though Beef O’Brady’s (BoB) has over 100 locations in the US, most of the country has never heard of the franchise. With most of the locations in Florida, it’s virtually unheard of elsewhere. However, the ambiance and menu are remarkably similar to Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW), which has over 1,200 locations in the United States, including one in Bentonville.

The number of BWW vs. BoB locations might suggest that BWW is better than BoB, but is this the case? Since BWW is more well-known, finding a reputable poll online is difficult. However, one poll is deeply biased toward BWW only because BoB is not very well known.

That poll suggested that BWW is much better with 7 votes, while one vote suggested they stop comparing the two. No one voted for BoB, but my hunch is that it’s because there are fewer locations.

At any rate, comparing the two might prove futile, as they both seem to have their strong points. If you happen to have had the chance to try both, let me know your thoughts.

Conclusion

After going to Beef O’Brady’s, I highly recommend going there yourself if you live in the area or are planning a visit. And if you want the $10 tour, contact me, and maybe we can make this one of our stops.
