What Am I Doing This Spring in Northwest Arkansas?

As a local real estate agent in Northwest Arkansas, I’m typically very busy tracking what’s going on during the spring. Keeping up with what’s going on in the area can make a world of difference if you’re traveling or working in the area.

I’ll be attending a ton of incredible events and shows this spring in Northwest Arkansas. I’ll be seeing shows at the Walton Art Center and T2 in Fayetteville and exploring the Listening Forest. I’ll also see some baseball games and have fun at Bike Fest.

In this article, I’ll be providing some extra information on each of the celebrations I listed. I’ll provide some insight into the most appealing qualities of each event and where you can go to join in on the fun. Here’s everything that’s going on this spring in northwest Arkansas.

Attending Shows at the Walton Art Center and T2

If you love going to see comedians or watching plays, it’s worthwhile to keep up with what’s going on at the Walton Art Center and T2 in Fayetteville. Several comedians will be doing shows at the Walton Art Center soon, and the symphony will be performing in the center as well.

T2 will be just as packed with fun shows. Several plays are going to be happening at the T2 across the spring, many of which are genuinely incredible and high-quality Broadway productions. It’s worth seeing one of these shows if you have the opportunity.

Between the events going on at the Walton Art Center and T2, Fayetteville will have at least one show going on every weekend. No matter what time you decide to visit Northwest Arkansas, you should check what’s going on at these two art centers and consider visiting.

Visiting the Listening Forest

The Listening Forest is a fascinating interactive experience where the forest is illuminated with lights and visitors are invited to explore. I’ve visited the Listening Forest before in the winter. The forest was beautifully decorated and very inviting to explore, and I considered it a great experience.

One thing you’ll need to keep in mind if you want to go to the Listening Forest during the spring is that it will start late at night, as the sun sets much later in the day. If you’re considering visiting with small children, you might prefer the winter experience due to the earlier sunset.

You will need to purchase affordable tickets to see the Listening Forest, but it’s worth visiting. Some of the art installations, like the light display that lights and dims in sync with the beat of your heart, will take your breath away. This is one of my top recommendations to visit while you’re in Arkansas.

The Listening Forest is held at Crystal Bridges, a museum in Bentonville. To learn more about Crystal Bridges, check out my post, where you’ll find an overview of the museum and a list of free things to do in Northwest Arkansas.

Seeing Incredible Baseball Games

Northwest Arkansas is a great place to be if you’re a baseball fan since there are three big teams in the area: the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in Springdale, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and the Fayetteville Woodpeckers. There’s a lot of spirit for baseball in the area and the games are very exciting to attend.

There’s always a fun baseball game going on within a reasonable drive in Northwest Arkansas. There’s a huge sense of pride in the area for the local baseball teams and you’ll have a lot of fun joining in if you have the same enthusiasm for baseball. I’ve personally purchased a lot of tickets for the upcoming spring season.

Celebrating at Bike Fest

If you love mountain biking, going to Bentonville to see Bike Fest is a must. This festival celebrates all things related to the thriving mountain biking hobby in northwest Arkansas and brings the community together. Best of all, it’s welcoming to any age.

You don’t have to be an ardent enthusiast to join in on the fun, either. As long as you enjoy the outdoors, you’ll love everything that Bike Fest has to offer. There are a lot of interesting games, rides, tricks, and spectacles to entertain kids and adults alike.

You’ll be just as impressed by Bike Fest if you are a mountain biking enthusiast. This event draws mountain bikers from across the world every year. Plenty of sponsors, such as Red Bull, also attend the event and elevate the quality of what it offers visitors.

Listening to Epic Concerts at the Walmart AMP

If you’re a fan of bands like the Foo Fighters or Fall Out Boy, you should make sure to check out what’s going on at the Walmart Amphitheater. The amphitheater is just a short drive away from most cities in northwest Arkansas and offers great prices on tickets.

They usually have a huge lineup of bands that will perform at the Walmart Amphitheater each year. You can find the 2023 lineup online, but certain details are still being released. The venue is located in Beville and usually transforms the city. The Eighth Street Market is typically filled with food and fun things to do when a concert is taking place.

Make sure to keep in mind that the Walmart Amphitheater uses a giant grass seating theater area. If you want to sit more comfortably, you can always bring a blanket to lay on the grass or even carry a few folding chairs to sit in while you enjoy the show. There are rows of seating you can purchase if you want to be closer to the concert stage.

Shopping at Farmers Markets

There are a lot of great farmer’s markets in northwest Arkansas. If you like shopping at farmer’s markets, you should make sure to go to a First Friday in Bentonville or a First Thursday in Fayetteville. The First Fridays are particularly awesome because each market has a new theme. First Thursdays are also themed but typically have an artistic spin.

Final Thoughts

No matter what time you decide to visit northwest Arkansas, the cities in the area provide plenty to do. I recommend building an itinerary in advance once you know what days you’ll be in the area, since this will allow you to maximize your time and attend all of the best events.
